Mohit Lakhani

Mohit Lakhani (b. 1989, Mumbai) is an Abstract Expressionist whose work speaks to the power of art as a universal language. Diagnosed with severe autism at the age of three, Lakhani creates bold, gestural paintings that offer rare insight into his inner world, each work a vivid imprint of truth, emotion, and experience. 

Encouraged by a therapeutic practice developed by his mother, a behaviour analyst, Lakhani learned to create without imitation, painting freely and intuitively. This breakthrough revealed an extraordinary artistic voice rooted in authenticity and emotional depth. 

His work guides viewers through a journey from raw pain to release and serenity, offering a cathartic experience that lingers. Beyond its aesthetic impact, his practice challenges societal perceptions of people with special needs, giving voice to those often overlooked, and teaching profound lessons on peace, love, and human connection, without the need for words.
